Our sexuality, sexual orientation, gender identity or what we look for in a relationship is individual to us and I believe that the only way to psychological health is to find the words that fit for you. It could be that you are coming to therapy with a clear idea of what you wish to speak about, it could be related to your gender, sexual or relationship identity, or not. It also could be that you sense something is unclear or doesn’t quite make sense and need a space to talk about this. I offer space for whatever exploration you need.
This sort of affirmative and exploratory practice, in an open-minded and non-judgemental setting is what I offer to all clients. I undertake regular CPD activities and reflections to ensure my knowledge is up to date.
I use the acronyms LGBTQIA+ and GSRD (Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity) to encompass the wide variety of identities that exist across sexuality, gender expression and relationship types and structures. It could be that one of these descriptions fits for you or not, or that you would just like to further explore your identity. These include but are not limited to:
- Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Pansexual
- Gender Diverse
- Gender Fluid
- Trans Identities
- Non-Binary
- Gender Non-Conforming
- Queer
- Polyamory, open relationships
- Ethical and consensual non-monogamies
- Kink/BDSM
- Intersex
