I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, working in private practice online and in Leicestershire
About Me
My training
I am a BACP accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist and I studied with the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI), qualifying in 2012. My BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy is validated by Coventry University. I also hold a Diploma in Supervision from CSTD Bath and offer supervision to groups and individuals.
Both trainings were rigorous and involved a lot of personal work as well as professional development.
This was the start of my journey and I hold the idea that we are always learning and growing.
Over the years of practice, I have specialised in working with clients and couples who identify as LGBTQIA+ or who fall under the umbrella of Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity (GSRD). I have undertaken extensive learning and training in these areas which is ongoing, as well as having lived experience.
I work closely with a supervisor on a regular basis to ensure that I am practising ethically and working in the interest of my clients.
My experience
I have been practising as a therapist since 2010 and working in private practice since 2013. I have a wide range of experience working with adults, young people and couples. As well as private practice, I have worked in different charity and volunteer settings around Leicestershire and London.
In private practice I work with individuals and couples+ who either come to me privately, through their Employee Assistance programme or their insurance company. I am also experienced in offering online or telephone counselling.
I am a supervisor to trainee and qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and anyone in the helping professions.
I am a trainer and have worked in a training institute supporting student therapists in their training journey.
I am BACP Accredited and on the BACP Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
Whilst I was training and in the early stages of my psychotherapy career, I was also working for a large organisation within an HR and Payroll team.
